HIKING TO HEATHER LAKE IN THE CASCADES

You forget to take ibuprofen, the trekking poles, and a knee brace.  Your hiking partner can't make it and rain is forecasted, but you go anyway.  You climb higher, harder, and longer than you thought you could do.  You keep going anyway.  And, when you think you can't climb another rock or stumble over another tree root and your back, knees, and legs have had it, you're rewarded with Heather Lake and Mt. Pilchuck.  You've reached a place to commune with nature and connect with yourself.

You're glad you went anyway.
